Washington Capital's 2011-2012 schedule

The Capital's schedule was just released this past week, and now's a great opportunity to do an analysis on the upcoming season. A few things to point out, they're making three trips to Winnipeg. Obviously the NHL failed to change their divisions and the Caps might suffer for it.

The Caps will have their first road-trip in Edmonton and Vancouver at the end of October. There's a brutal stretch in November where they'll play 7 games in 12 days from November 15th to November 26th, including the first three of those on the road. December, January, and February don't look too bad, but March is an entire brutal month with 16 games in 31 days. They start with four games at home, go to Boston, come back for Toronto, then a four game trip to Nassau and Winnipeg, then Chicago and Detroit back-to-back followed by a trip to Philly and coming back to play Winnipeg in a back-to-back. They pretty much are playing every other day.
